How does microneedling work?
By using an adjustable pen that stamps microneedles up and down into the upper layers of the skin to the dermal/epidermal junction, a stimulation of collagen cells is created. The bodies natural response is to send growth factors to the stimulated area and heal by laying down new collagen. This new collagen can improve many skin imperfections when treatments are completed in a course.
How many treatments would I need to do to see improvements in my skin?
For a younger skin (under 40) that is just wanting to improve skin health and slow the ageing process, a course of 3 treatments every 12-18 months is sufficient. For someone over 40 with ageing concerns or for someone with minor scarring or problematic skin conditions you will likely need a course of 4 – 6 treatments every 12 months.
How often do I need to do a microneedling treatment?
It is recommended to perform your treatments 28 days apart, and not leave it longer than 6 weeks between treatments to achieve a good cumulative response. Performing treatments to close together can damage the new collagen to early so it is recommended to wait at least 28 days.
